Composer Paul Towber
Paul Towber is an amateur Composer currently living in Monterey, CA. He began studying music at Cuesta College in 2012, and credits his experience there as being one of the main reasons for his deep passion for harmony and vocal music. He has since earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from California State University Sacramento with a focus in Music Theory and Composition. He won 1st place in the 2016 Festival of New American Music (FeNAM) Student Composer Competition and the Spring 2016 Scoring & Arranging Competition at Sacramento State. While studying at Sacramento State he wrote and arranged pieces performed by the university’s Men’s Chorus, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. Paul Towber was also given the opportunity to conduct both the CSUS Chorus, under the instruction of Dr. Donald Kendrick, and the Sacramento State Symphony, under the instruction of Dr. Leo Eylar, during the University's fall concert series.
